The general consensus of refurbished laptops is that they are out of date and undesirable, yet this is far from the truth. In fact, refurbished laptops are very much in date and are at the cutting edge of technology. They are the complete opposite to how they are portrayed, due to people's preconceptions thinking that refurbished means that laptops are second hand and archaic, yet in truth they could potentially be canceled orders from a computer store, which has resulted in the laptops being sent back to the manufacturers warehouse unopened. Some of the advantages of purchasing a refurbished laptop are that the costs are very low and they are reliable and these are the reasons more and more people are beginning to realise purchasing refurbished laptops is the way to go.
Buying a new laptop does have some advantages, for example the higher end laptops have the newest technology available, however the disadvantages, when compared to a refurbished laptop, far outweigh the advantages. The main disadvantage of buying a new laptop is the cost, whereas the main advantage of a refurbished laptop is the cost and this is the main reason why a refurbished laptop is the better choice of the two. The reasons why people purchase new laptops is due to the fact that refurbished laptops are not readily available and not many people know about this alternative, although EuroPC hopes to change this outlook on laptops in the near future.
An HP refurbished laptop is 'as good as new' because if their were any deficiencies with the laptop, repairs will have been made to fix the laptop, although some laptops do not even need fixing, for example they may have just been sent back to the factory unopened. All of the laptops are re-packaged and given extra tests to prove their functionality and reliability, which effectively makes the laptops 'as good as new'.
Buying a refurbished laptop is better than buying new, mainly because it is effectively a 'new' laptop, whilst being more affordable than a new laptop from a computer store. It can also turn out to be more reliable than a new computer because refurbished laptops are given extra tests, which new laptops are not given, and these new laptops could have problems that were not spotted through their regular tests, effectively making refurbished laptops more reliable. All of this shows that an HP refurbished laptop is 'as good as new' and possibly even better than new.
